Last for a while...

Having looked at my money status and what the future holds, this little one will be my last doll for a while I suspect... unless I get lucky and can sell some unwanted stuff!
It may have been noticed that I like SOOM. I think thier dolls are beautiful, and I love all the fantasy stuff! It's sad that I don't collect SD sized dolls, but lucky for me, they seem to always make a tiny version. Thier first tiny fantasy limiteds were Glot and Glati in 2009. This was the year when they began making tinys then SD versions and vice versa. I watched and waited. From the year before there was any tinys, there was many stunning, fantasy SDs. And during the next 2 years tiny versions of theses beauties from 2008 were released.
For Sard & Beryl there was Glot & Glati. They released a SD simular too, but everyone can see that Glot and Glati as tiny Sard and Beryl. Afi & Ai were obviously baby Ambers. Bygg & Beyla were tiny Heliots. And I loved that Soom did this. Even though I dont have any of the SDs that doesn't mean I wouldn't love 1! I was waiting on a tiny version of a certain doll.
In November 2008 Vesuvia was released. I LOVED her tail <3 My birthday is November 2nd, I'm a scorpio. When I noticed that little ones of the 2008 releases were slowly being made, I knew that I'd one day have my little baby Scorpion. My Scorpling <3 I waited. And... waited. By the time I got to 2011 I'd given up on SOOM releasing little Vesuvias. It wasn't just her they haden't made tinys of... Bix & Topaz for exmple. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disapointed at this point. So I forgot about it. Moved on.
July 2014. Four years and eight months after Vesuvia. I supose what felt like forever is better than never! I know four years doesn't sound like a long time. Was nearly 5 years! Well... when my Scorpling arrived it had been 5 years I supose xD Soom released Yarn & Silk - Sand elves. Yarn is a lovely tan and Silky is violet. Both colours are really lovely, but after much decision making, I ordered a Silky. I wanted to pay in full in hopes that she would arrive around my birthday, but I had to pay to fix a stupid car and stupid insurence!!! So layaway it was. Oh well. Maybe for christmas then ^^ I could get her stuff while I waited :)
So I don't want to sound ungreatful, but SOOM picked such a bad time for me to change thier timing system! I was expecting a 2-3 month wait after I finished paying for my Silky. I was not prepared for 2 weeks!! My silky had to sit in customs for a while as I couldn't afford the fees straight away. And because of stupid car I haden't got my Scorpling anything :(
But! Enough whinning! BOX!
Rubbish phone photos are rubbish, I'm sorryyy. I had her delivered to my Granddad's house as I don't trust the postal service where I live! Quick fact! I keep all the EMS papers. I consider them 'birth' certificates for my dolls. I know theres the CoA aswell, but I keep these too!
Lots of bubblewrap pieces ^^ Usually there is one head on the body but this time there wasn't. Which was fine, they always put the head I'm not going to use on the body anyway! Silky came with 2 heads; human and dreamy elf. I wanted the elf head but I wanted to open the eyes, if I was brave enough!

Silky also came with fantasy hands and feet, which I didn't actually like. I just wanted the horns and tail ^^
She is such a lovely colour which my phone cannot pick up at all! Doubt my camera can either, will have to try at some point.
At this point in my box opening I got invaded by a small and annoying monster child! She's lovely really, and she loves my dolls!
Know this; most four year old slightly spoilt english children have no patience! I had another wig to try (Did a day later, it was horrid! and tried others when I got home, but all didn't look right.) but she wanted to dress her 'now'!
I didn't let her touch the dolly ofcorse, I'm a horrible Aunt! She wanted her to wear this butterfly clip though. Which is too big and looks silly! I told her I was thinking of calling her Rosetta and she approved! Thus she was Princess Rosetta for the day!
Isabella Monster even made a picture of her with her house! I'm glad her heart pictures look like hearts now. To the dirty adult mind they didn't look like hearts before... were close to other things, such as boy bits and pieces! I do wonder though, why do some children when they start out right backwards? I know I use to write individual numbers and letters the wrong way, but never whole words! It's cute though ^^ She's actually very good with my dolls. She knows they aren't toys and is oh so careful ^^ Maybe when shes bigger she'll want some too ^^
Once I returned home, I picked a set of spare eyes. I haden't got the ones I wanted :( And she will have to make do with this blue and pink wig, which I actually want to sell lol And I didn't plan it, but this soom outfit actually fits even with her tail ^^
Ah yes. The tail. The stringing experience from hell! I got so stressed that I I had to put her in her box in pieces for a while and calm down. I've never had such issues with stringing before. I strung my centaur! But this was so difficult for me. It certainly didn't help that just when I thought I had it my hands spazzed and I let the elastic go so it all fell appart again. I was even thinking of selling her.
I actually opened her eyes before I strung her. I took it slow and steady doing both jobs. It's just annoying that I can seal or faceup her yet as the weather sucks! But I have to buy her eyes and wig anyway. And she is cute blank anyway!
She aslso needs a name. I actually thought of Rosetta on the way home as they were talking about the robot being put on a commet (How cool is that?!) and I thought Rosetta would be quite fitting. And I do like the name but I also like the name Chiana. Think I will be undecided until she's complete. I do adore her though <3
I also can't decide who she is... is she Nero & Bijoux's sister? or is she a lonely time traveler. I don't know. Again, I probably won't know until she's complete. So that's doll number twentythree.

And now my doll blog is up to date. May begin talking about thier back stories and future plans maybe?

New doll company - Old self

Since my MS had settled a bit, mother kept telling me I should try faceups again, and that I can do it if I took it slow! Mums are great :) So when it came to buying a doll who's default faceup wouldn't suit my character in mind I decided I would. Actually 2...
Peakswoods released blue/grey vampire YoSDs. I'd had vampire Hucky on my wish lists for years so that was an obvious choice. It took a little while to decide on the other sculpt, but eventually I picked Leo. Why two? Well I decided they were to be brothers and not vampires either. They would be dragons. Originally I thought I'd buy some horns and wings. However after a little thought process time and because I couldn't find the perfect ones, I decided to try and make my own. I decided against wings though, maybe tails would be better. It's because they are dragons that the default faceup wouldn't do. They needed scales ^.^
I'd never ordered from peakswoods before. After a little research it seemed they were a lovely company to deal with. Wrong... They are a frigging amazingly fantastically lovely company to deal with. You can design your own layaway plan. They are always fast to reply to any questions and try to ensure the buying experience is as wonderfully easy for you as it can be. I can not praise this company enough.
I wanted a comfortable layaway as honestly... I couldn't really afford 2! And right near the end of my layaway they let me extend it to include some clothes! So lovely blank dollies and clothes ^^ But my little dragons needed eyes... but Captured In Glass doesn't offer what I was after. Infact I don't think it would work in glass. I needed snake/dragon eyes. Blue and purple. Ersa Flora, another new place to buy things. And I found some wigs for them from For My Doll (lately my favourite place to buy wigs). I also got some magnets and Fimo clay ready to make horns and maybe tails. I even got them some trainers too! I was all set ^^
I know we've all seem a cardbord box before, but it's still exciting! And the blue PeaksWoods boxes. I really like the colour. And the cute little passage on writing which reads: Elf's woods located on the top of the mountain. When you step in a castle gate crossing the rainbow bridge. You will find the place where elves are dancing. Welcome to Peak's Woods.
CoAs, postcards, acrylics eyes and freebies ^.^ A nice blonde wig and lots of extra hands :D Very excited about those as I had no idea I'd be getting more hands. I also did not know PW tinies come with zippy cushions. And I know it's very minor and insignificant but I love the red and blue tags that were on thier cushions. Hucky's is the red and Leos is the blue.
Thats Hucky. Can't mistake those cute lips!
Where's my brother?
Hucky (Left) And Leo (right). No clothes though. Peakswoods must have forgotten. So I rush off to find some spare clothes for them to borrow!
Hucky is going to by my purple Dragon called Spyro (yes after the game! I love those games...).
Leo is going to be my blue dragon. I've named him Takeo after a character from 1 of my favourite series of books. He is the older 1 of the 2 brothers.
Even though Mummy had confidence in me to do the faceups, I really truly didn't, but I did try my hardest! My ability shocked me. It's not professional level by all means, but I think it's pretty good for a disabled person! The lower eye lashes are a tell. They start fantastically, but they slowly go down hill as I was getting tired and loosing control of my hands. I should have stopped and gone back to it. Unfortunately, I is of the stubborn.

I started with Spyro's faceup and then moved on to Takeo's. I'm still rubbish at eyebrows but I think I'm a little better at everything else :) And I'm happy with thier little scales :) Onto the bodies!
They arn't everywhere but both little boys have them arround thier belly, anckles, feet, hands, arms and neck. Making sure the scales on all the left hands matched and same for the right was a pain!
It took three attempts to get the horns right. Theses ones were the first prototype but the horns didn't fit the head right. Can't see it in this photo. The second one didn't even sit on the head.
Third time lucky and completed with a bit of paint. I tried making tails but didn't like how it sit on them. Think perhaps I made it too big and a much smaller one would work better. I did get the shape how I wanted though :)
I love how these little boys turned out so much and I feel a bit like my old self when I first started collecting. When the sky was a limit I was willing to race past! I think I'd want them to have a little sister one day, I just need to find a cute sculpt with vampire teeth!

And now you want to know who Bijoux is...

Bijoux was a very random purchase. When SOOM released the Elemanders Sammi & Picro, I was in love with Picro. The blue looked lovely. In the company photos Sammi looked very 'peach'. Not pink at all. I didn't have the pennies at the time of thier release so they passed me by. It was only when I saw owner pics that I truly fell in love with the sculpt. The face was beautiful. And Sammi was PINK!
I wasn't looking for anything really when browsing the marketplace on Den Of Angels. Just window shopping. at this time I was quite bitter about Nero having not arrived at Mint on Card. And I saw Sammi. Just blank... but she looked beautiful. I slept on the idea but that just gave my imagination the time it needed to envision things! I knew how I wanted my friend and guru to paint her body and faceup her. I was going to open the eyes but decided against it. And I also thought of how she fit in to my many storylines for my BJDs. She was Nero's sister. Box opening, then explanation!
I have so many of theses white boxes now lol
So pink! Gorgeous. I still don't understand why SOOM concealed the pink by blushing her all peachy. The pink is so lovely.
How I intend her to stay. Don't think I will ever use the human legs, feet or hands.
I'd always wanted a Frezje dress. Felt like everyone had 1. And they are lovely. I'm already trying to justify the money to be spent on them! Really want to get Mischa and Kajsa one.
I tried many of the wigs I have spare and used a spare pair of eyes that I still have and hate. I had no idea what eyes and wig she should have.
So for that moment she was blind and bald until I could figure it out. Hopefully a faceup and body blushing would make stuff clearer but while she was gone a got 2 wigs and some eyes.
My guru worked closly to my photoshop efforts and I tweaked what she did with more photoshop to show her what I wanted. She did the faceup perfectly. I've actually lost the original photoshops I did at the start, but she did it exactly how I wanted :)
I tried the red wig from before. Still wasn't right.
I had this wig made for her. It's so soft and lovely. Still wasn't sure though.
I also bought this wig. Decided it wasn't her though.
I don't know what happened but I tried the glot default again. And for me, it fit. I don't know if it's because my friend faceuped the eyebrows a light brown to match, but I decided this wig was Bijoux. The eyes I ordered for her though didn't stick. Instead she got Kajsa's old pink ones.
How can a white tiger cub and a salamander be siblings I hear you ask? They are adopted brother and sister. Both turned to a human form of thier past selves by a fairy and her wand. Bijoux was actually the result of a silly kitten throwing his mother's wand into a river. But thier adopted mother loves them both dearly. This is another story which is open to new members. Nero and Bijoux may have other siblings one day.
